I would only add that first dibs at buying back the club if the new owners eventually decide to sell, would be right. Having said that, if we progress back into the FL and into the heady heights beyond league two, would the value of the club be out of reach to all but extremely wealthy individuals? I couldn’t see the average Wrexham fan stumping up vast sums of cash to once again buy the club. I’ll be voting yes to a takeover COYR

I'm voting yes to take over as even if they get bored with their plaything and chuck us, it is still better to burn out than fade away as we are doing now..........., irrespective of people's fears of what R&R could do in 5 to 10 years, we'll be dead an buried long long before that if we stay as we are, i was and still am, for fans ownership, however, its gone wrong here and hasn't worked, it may work with other individuals in the future,

the ones who bring about the revolution are never the best placed to then roll out the evolution that follows, its a different skill set !

I have no idea if anyone else holds The Trust in the high esteem that I do, but if anyone else does then take heart, you are not alone.

I suspect many supporters are wrapped up in a short moment in time where; we're doing badly on the pitch, some people will feel the current board members are serving us badly, and we have a potential investor. I would ask those supporters to remember the good times under The Trust, which will inevitably come again with patience.

Looking forward to the vote: We are being asked to vote on a very flimsy bid. We can look forward to an exciting presentation, but please remember negotiations resulted in the WST "Information Pack for WST members". This is the concrete proposal. What we hear next will be aspiration, and more worryingly, it will be statements the bidders were unwilling to have placed in the 'Information pack'.

The Information pack puts to bed an outright lie, repeatedley stated on RP. The lie being that the Club will fold without investment. The Pack states

" We are sure that if we had to continue on that basis we would be able to carry on. If the football Gods smile on us we may even achieve our objective of a return to the Football League. We should all be incredibly proud of what we have achieved over the past nine years, it is absolutely amazing."

The figures in the pack support this, please ignore misinformation on this.

The figures also put the current bid in better context, its pretty measly. Trust members put money into the club every year, it varies but I think £200,000 is a good guess. The Information pack alos estimartes that volunteers put in another £200,000 of free labour. This investment is EVERY year, and its as secure as any investment can be. So, ignoring people like me, who are MORE likely to support the club, and attend games BECAUSE it a Trust, The Trust invests £400,000 per year EVERY year. Thats a solid commitment, and the proposed DOCUMENTED commitment in comparison is £2 million ONCE (plus rent on the ground).

A fair yardstick for Clubs that have blasted their way out of this Division with money is ; a PLAYING BUDGET of £2m PER YEAR. It worked for Forest Green and Fleetwood after a few years, it failed for Fylde. But that is what's needed to be top of the financial pile.

RP posts have frequently used a 'Crystal Ball' comparison to reject the argument we don't know who comes after R&R. The argument is imcomplete. I KNOW who isn't likely to be a bidder after they have gone. It's the Trust, and why won't they bid? Firstly they probably won't have funds to rescue the club again, and more importantly the people of the Town won't fall for the assumption that other supporters had the the clubs Best Interests at heart. Why would you buy an asset for the community, to have it sold for £1 again? Why fight in the Courts? Why march? Why dig deep in your pockets?

If R&R genuinely have the Community's interest at heart they will modify their bid so The Trust has first refusal to re-purchase, at a fair price.

I will vote for their bid then. And maybe over 75% of Trust Members will too.
So are you going to put your hand in your pocket again and again to keep the club alive ?

In theory with the amount of money going into football now, fans buying a Championship club or higher would be very difficult to do. If and its a bit if R&R do get us to the Championship and left you would be looking at needing someone coming in with serious money to keep the club at that level.

Anyone that thinks to vote against this is effectively killing the club.
The model may or may not be antiquated, but the lack of fans and financial impact caused by Covid has altered the situation totally for us and most clubs outside the very top level.

Frankly I despair that some people don't see this. It's clear Spencer (not someone I am a big fan of necessarily) and the Trust see this. Given how pro fans ownership they are do people really think they would be going for this, even with it being Ryan Reynolds, if there was an alternative?

This is about the club surviving it's that simple.

I have had dealings with Lindsay in the past at the time of the removal of Hamilton and Guterman. I respect him or perhaps rather did. He was one of the main people who saved the club, maybe the main one. But the situation has altered a lot since then, again mainly down to Covid and no fans.

If because of his political affiliations he is Trust at all costs and no private investment should be allowed then my view is he should be a politician, not applying his political views to our football club. What is Lindsay's Plan B if the bid is rejected?

What is the Trust's plan B if the bid is rejected? We can't let the club go under because of a small number of people with hard left wing beliefs (and I'm left of centre myself). To turn down £2m investment at this time when nearly all clubs are fighting for survival would be an act of self harm we could never forgive ourselves for.

If the bid is rejected my support for the club with regret stops.

Possibly, but alot would depend on on how much the club was losing and if a private investor would take on the debt. We are getting well ahead of ourselves talking about Championship football. We've heard that ambition for over 50 years and this time maybe different but its someway off currently. We proved previously under private ownership and even with the initial bumper gates we couldn't truly afford Championship level football and it soon started to unravel with debt and consecutive relegations.

Therefore, the fan base should unite get behind this bid but at the same time ensure the club membership/WST or whatever it needs to be called stays strong and is very much alive and kicking in the future even if it is only assisting the club to find other wealthy investors.
