We won 2-0 if i recall correctly (i think Llewelyn might have scored) and it was so hard not to celebrate the goals!

It wasn't helped by my Father in Law constantly saying louder than he needed to "Wrexham are playing well today, you must be happy"!!
Not the safest place to celebrate in the home end! I remember that game well.

Bring back any fond memories...[/QUOTE

The Crewe chap with the trumpet playing the last post at the end is not a memory I cherish!!!!

One of my worst experience as Wxm fan. Living, working and playing football in Crewe at the time, it cost me a load of bets and stick for months. Didn't hear the last post though as .most of us left at 5-1 after the Gresty Road end gates were kicked open. Thankfully, a series of Wxm wins followed, greatly assisted by Garry Bennett's goals helped to erase the fear of playing Crewe..

Indeed, after that who would have thought we would beat them 3 times later that season.

1-0 away in the league, I think 1-0 away again in the old Freight Rover Trophy and 2-0 at home in the league.

Happy days !!

The scariest was Birmingham away in the cup.
We had tickets in front of the Directors box as sponsors of the Avon Combination and one guest stood up and cheered when Wrexham scored and there was a surge of brum fans .Luckily it was only verbal abuse.

I think we smacked 'em 3-0 in the freight rover trophy at Gresty just a few weeks later. (though my memory could be elevating the performance).

I knew that wasn't a one off and that things had clearly clicked for us.

I never understand why people can't keep their cool in the home end when we put in an impressive performance away from home.

I was in the chester end when king karl destroyed them in '97, no problem whatsoever.

I think I would have more of an issue controlling myself if we were dire, but that probably says more about me.

I can imagine that would be scary!

I have also been to Elland road for a Leeds V Manchester Utd game with friends (two were leeds fans and one poor guy was a United fan).

He must have been cleaning his underpants for days after sitting in amongst the Leeds fans..thankfully my Leeds supporting mates were kind and didn't highlight the fact of his allegiance!!
