Very interesting article on how Wimbledon have overcome the odds and are returning to Plough Lane with a new ground.
Just think what we might have achieved with a more dynamic board and supporters that didn't spend their time being totally negative.

Fans have not been totally negative at all.

Over the years the fans have been ground down after one thing after another. Last year being the club's lowest ever on the field. There has been very little to get excited and positive about. Yet again though, the fans are to blame. If only we had blind positivity and ignore all the crap that we've had to put up with over the years...

Fans have backed the club time and time again and backed the board completely for a good 7+ years. Eventually it becomes too much. Fans couldn't have done anymore. Just look at our attendances. Too many mistakes have been made at the top level. It's time to thank the board for finding more suitable custodians to take over, and move on.

We are supposedly a fans run club. Fans have offered both criticism and possible solutions to many things over the last 9 years only to be ignored or rebuffed by the two boards.

You can't blame the fans for anything, they have stood up to be counted when it matters.
Hopefully those that wish for a better chance of a prosperous future for the club (those that can vote anyway) will also, once again, stand up to be counted and vote Yes.

Wimbledon had a very pragmatic approach to capital raising, clear vision and experienced leadership. They also told their story very well. I argued from before day 1 for an approach as flexible and dynamic but its too late now, that ship sailed long ago.

Time to move on...

Its a two way street. Wrexham fans put up the bond, a large number of them have invested time and money into the WST. If you look at the attendance figures since the WST took over they have gone up, people have spent money in supporting the club in large numbers. But the product has to be worthy of that support, the ambition has to be worthy.

I've always been a fan of the WST and in principle I support fan ownership, but there is a reason that most other examples of fan owned clubs revert back to private ownership. It achieved its aims at saving the club and putting it in as good a place as it can be for the next step. And personally I think that's enough. If we stay as we are then the best we could have hoped for is maintaining the status quo and with the global pandemic kts highly likely that we would see a sharp decline in our position, and ability to maintain a professional football club.
