I don’t think they’re doing it just for the documentary - I think they’re genuine in wanting to build something and own a sports team, and we are lucky enough they fell on us. If they want a show to go along with that, perhaps even if it’s a bit of pandering to their egos as our saviours if that’s the slant the show will have (which I’m not saying it will be), then I can live with that. I think they’ll be great for the club in so many ways.

The boring area I’m most excited about is spending money on getting a proper CEO, high quality staff and coaches. That’ll be what takes our club to the next level.
if it raises income that helps us get promoted they could make it a comedy for all I care,

There will definitely be enough material!

I think we are all going to have to get used to the media circus as a whole. We will be “Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham” on sky sports from now on, with smirking presenters etc etc. It will no doubt be annoying in various aspects. But I think definitely worth it for the improvements to the club we will undoubtedly have.

I have not looked at many football productions and hope that the proposed one shows the club and area in good light. The Sunderland one did a hatchet job on the town and its people. Perhaps this will have a different outcome.
I see the Sunderland one differently, the production company is owned by Sunderland fans (Fulwell 73 - Fulwell is an area of Sunderland and 73 is reference to when they won the FA Cup).

I think the owners came out badly but the fans came off as ordinary hard working people who loved their club.

I am a big fan of It's Always Sunny... so it was quite bizarre to see Rob's name linked with Wrexham.

I didn't buy any of that Philly and Wrexham being similar. Whilst I have never been to Philadelphia, I would guess it's nothing like Wrexham but it sounded good.

Perhaps I have this completely wrong but I would say that McElhenney as a person isn't completely removed from his character on It's Always Sunny. Maybe it's his daft/p'ss take side. He's obviously a very bright person to have written and starred in a sitcom spanning 3 decades.

My only fear (and it is small) is that he takes the p'ss out of the club but that wouldn't reflect well on him.

As for Reynold, he mentioned he has a marketing company. I would imagine they will go to town on this.

I just hope it happens.

I have to disagree. As well as being majorly working class areas, like Wrexham Philadelphia has a rich mining heritage as does we know the area of Wrexham. Miners from Rhos and the surrounding areas used to travel to Philadelphia to work in the mines over there and there is a strong Welsh contingent to the community over there too. I am also lead to believe that some of their community travelled over here too.

What would separate ours from the Sunderland documentary is the fact they would own the club. They would make decisions which would form part of the narrative. Instead of following Stewart Donald, they're following a CEO who is directly accountable to R&R. As I say, this CEO isn't going to be a bloke off the street.

I wouldn't be surprised if all marketing is done remotely from North America (i.e Reynold's company).

Initially, I would say retaining Conference status this season is absolutely vital. Part of the story is getting promotion to the Football League so waiting 2-3 seasons isn't going to work.
