Squandered on what - keeping the club afloat and paying the bills?

No signing dreadful players who were so bad we had to pay contracts off early to get rid of them and the same goes for the managers who signed them. The money went on paying off bad decisions and bad hiring and the dreadful contracts. It’s common knowledge that they threw money at Hughes to try and make him a success but he was so under qualified it was squandered.

Put 1.8 million to one side.

The club was budgeted for which is something we all know season by season. It does fluctuate but roughly there was never a huge increase.

Where the hell did 1.8 million go, whilst having 5500 average attendance might I add, along with the Taylor money and all other transfer fees.

No matter how you look at this, we were a disaster financially with a huge black hole somewhere.

1.8 million ISNT part of any budget, it was extra money that still vanished.

R+R took this club because of the average attendance and the potential simple as. The fan base was always there, it’s just how many of the 11 other interested parties were worthy we will never know.

You can't have it both ways. You say the club was financially prudent yet the Ward money was gone long before Covid.

So they either didn't budget for a £1.8million hole in the budget and without a huge bit of footballing fortune we'd have been dead and buried

or

The Danny Ward money wasn't spent on keeping the club afloat and was just wasted on god knows what

Either way it's terrible mismanagement from the WST. I get that you're supportive of the trust but you can't rewrite history now. Draw a line under it and just focus on the future.

It actually breaks me you are having to explain all of this, it’s like trying to explain to someone who refuses to listen.

We essentially had a budget of 1 million topped it up to 1.-1.4 million and cannot account for most of the money.

It screams terrible management and there’s something huge which is where it went, the club is budgeted so bills were paid as normal, 1.8million should of gone all on players at the point that money came into the bank as it vanished anyway!

I think financially we have been run really well. The problem has always been that as a fan owned club we have to balance the books, and in the National League there is no financial fair play, and very little TV income. This meant that it was always hard to compete against bankrolled teams, or teams who were able to run up large debts.

I've said before that our model would have been more successful in the EFL, with financial fair play and close to £1m in TV money annually in League 2 - more in the leagues above. Water under the bridge now...
Stopped reading after the first sentence. Talk about deluded. Absolute nonsense and trying to rewrite history. Won't wash.
