Does it matter?

This acquisition is an opportunity to reunite the fan base as long as the fan base want to be reunited.

There must be a bit of truth that the club is on a sound footing but from recent reports and projections, perhaps it would have been difficult next year and maybe the budget for next season would have reflected the overspend.

Good post.
We have a chance to unite and back the team.
What we don't have is a voice to do anything if things go pear shaped.

Most supporters felt disconnected from the Trust to influence change so selling is the best thing for this club. If things go pear shaped, so be it. There’s as much evidence of things going pear shaped under the new owners than there is under trust ownership.

Did you miss the quote from a USA publication that states, that Spencer Harris said we had debts to pay off and that WST funds would be used? Given after mid October, all debts after would be the responsibility of the new owners, I don't think we are debt free nor were we projecting to be.

You also didn't explain to us given this information, why your mate was willing to hold the club over a barrel to keep fan ownership in place.

'It’s not unreasonable to think a documentary alone could finance the $2.64 million, and potentially add additional funds to the club’s coffers. Wrexham typically generates between $1.98 million and $4.22 million in annual revenue, Harris said. It’ll be on the low end for this pandemic-disrupted season, and the club is expecting losses of at least $395,000 which it will cover with cash reserves.'

Interesting he hasn't mentioned this to UK publications, so much for always cutting the cloth accordingly.

Absolutely. Let's enjoy the ride now. We've handed our club over from a hard working but financially hungry Trust to a couple of hard-working wealthy American actors. It is, as Whitey said, a lottery win.

I'd suggest to some of the posters on this thread dialling down the rhetoric a notch. We're all fans of the club here and I have no wish to argue with other fans constantly. Having a different viewpoint is not an attack on you.

Financially we have been extremely well managed. To be nine months into a pandemic with no debts and cash in the bank is remarkable. That's partly to do with being fan owned and having to live within our means. And it's a big part of the reason we were attractive to our new owners.

On the pitch you can certainly argue that we have not been as well managed for sure - poor managers (Barrow, Hughes), poor players etc.

That's my view - not that it really matters now.

Couldn't agree more! I guess there will always be some people who aren't happy unless they have something to moan about?

I listened to this last night - Spencer stated that we are debt free with cash in the bank. It's a good listen - really outlines why the club is such an attractive prospect for the new owners.

And who appointed those poor managers? Wasn’t the board by any chance was it???

Must say I do admire your nerve to keep spinning and spinning.
