This is a forum for debate after all. Works both ways, which seems lost on some.

People can shout 'move on' and lets 'reunite the fanbase' all they want but while WST fans like Todd keep desperately trying to twist facts, rewrite history and try to paint the WST as some heroic force that left the club in a great position it won't happen.

Fan ownership was a unmitigated disaster, we were close to relegation, only saved by Covid and the outlook for the club with the WST at the controls was about as bleak as it gets.
We were on a massive downward spiral with no reverse in fortunes in sight.Fans refusing to give the club anymore money, fanbase split, money blown on badly chosen managers who then blew more money on poor players etc, no training ground, a pipe dream sub standard training ground with no money to pay for it etc etc you could go on and on.

Basically you've replied to the wrong poster.
It’s over now isn’t it. Trust members voted to end Trust ownership.

For what it’s worth, my support of the Trust was based on them being the only ones in town to run the club. You can read past posts but I’m sure you’ve got better things to do.

I’ve heard discussion of 8 bids in the past but the mechanism, as we’ve seen, is to engage with Trust members and paying Mi-Vote to coordinate the vote. I doubt that was cheap although it was probably peanuts to Rob and Ryan.

Does anyone know categorically how much it cost to consult with Trust member and who paid for it? The point I’m hoping to make is tyre kickers wouldn’t pay £10-20k for that process.

Not at all. I think Hughes was a big mistake.

I'm saying that overall the trust did a very good job in managing the finances of the club, which made us attractive to the new owners.

Financially we have been extremely well managed. To be nine months into a pandemic with no debts and cash in the bank is remarkable. That's partly to do with being fan owned and having to live within our means. And it's a big part of the reason we were attractive to our new owners.

On the pitch you can certainly argue that we have not been as well managed for sure - poor managers (Barrow, Hughes), poor players etc.

That's my view - not that it really matters now.

Why do you keep peddling this lie?

Why is Spencer Harris saying cash reserves will be used to pay debts if they're aren't any?

Just seen you're other post, the fella doesn't know if he's coming or going.

They may have looked after the finances but the succession of poor managerial decisions and alienation of the fan base would have took the club into debt.

Even if you consider we would have gone bust or got relegated (which I dont subcribe too) , isnt that mainly due to Covid and its affects (after the poor management of course)?
How many other clubs are going down the tubes before we ever would?
Thats the sobering thought !
I would prefer we talked about the bright future we should have , rather than constantly bringing up the past!
I have no idea who the CEO will be.
Hopefully a real game changer for us

Imagine if in 12 months time the £2million investment by our new private owners is all spent and we are still in bottom half of the conference. The pitch forks would be out and I believe WST got an easy ride on this. Any other owners and we would be demanding answers.

Take your point and you are quite right. However I think everyone knows that nobody can be as incompetent as WST in wasting that monies so am very confident we are on the up and wont be taken to the bottom of the league like WST took us
