Still Dreadful (0-1 Hartlepool away win!)

It's the same old rubbish have we got to stand for this garbage any longer. It's time to empty the bathwater tonight and send the Keates brigade down the plughole.

A win but only just, All them at the end but thankfully they were worse than us in scoring.

3 points closer to safety, the quicker these clowns get sacked the better.

2nd half we were much better, actually looked okay.

Still want Keates gone mind.

Any win is a good win with these players and management team so well done lads!

The win is great, but the sooner these lads get better coached the sooner we might see some improvement. Hard work that, but I'd take it tonight.

3 points and a clean sheet, that will certainly help our cause in January when we'll loan a young goal scorer and creative midfield dynamo from Premier league clubs.

Trust in R&R and the new CEO to implement the necessary changes to the dug out first and then the team!

Great goal from Durrell. I'd take 1-0 away anytime. Great result!

Terrible performance. Lucky 3 pts.

Re: Still Dreadful (0-1 Hartlepool away win!)

Firstly congratulations on a hard fought away win.
Several decent performances Centre backs , Leighton, Durrell , Harris and Young.
Thomas actually was a decent target man tonight, without much support and when Ponticelli went off we started giving the ball away.
They ran at us well and our full backs looked weak and Durrell is a bit of a liability defending.
We give away too many cheap free kicks and other teams will punish us. We need more quality if we are to challenge this season.

Great win!

Still cant see us doing anything, but if we pick up points and are not too far away by January....who knows

We made it difficult for ourselves but we got three points. Two bad teams but I seem to be saying that every match win, lose or draw. I think it might be a bad league this time around where everyone's at this low, low standard.

Re: Still Dreadful (0-1 Hartlepool away win!)

We don't look comfortable on the ball a lot of huff and puff. That tall centre-back of ours you see on any park Saturday afternoon. When we get a new manager my god he'll have his hands full.

Quite agree a couple of quality loan signings we will soon climb up the league.

Take a scruffy win. Always a tough place to go but they all need to sharpen up quick, if we are to get back to back wins.

Re: Still Dreadful (0-1 Hartlepool away win!)

According to Radio Tees splendid commentary, it was the same old Hartlepool! Should have won game in the first half like in their previous home matches v Bromley, Altrincham! Ten unproductive corners for a very predictable home side! Wrexham settled for 1-0 win after scoring, a dangerous tactic albeit against a team who have not won at home since early October! I'll take the three points this time but....

The game should have been over at half-time and it was yet another dire performance with luck playing a huge part

Keates has to go and soon

Re: Still Dreadful (0-1 Hartlepool away win!)

Defensively we were much improved on the recent Sunday League standard we've gotten used to, but apart from 15 minutes in the second half, on the ball once again it really wasn't good.

Good result though, obviously delighted.

Re: Still Dreadful (0-1 Hartlepool away win!)

Terrible first half - better second. Hartlepool average but seen worse

Defence bit more solid this time , though Horsefield poor first half ,picked up 2nd.
Midfield ok -Harris,Young , Rutherford all worked hard and probably won the game in some respects. worked hard enough. Durrell best player on night (good finish) then taken off ??
Thomas good lay off for goal - nothing sticks ,takes no pressure off defence.
Ponticelli was also running the channels then taken off ? (maybe not match fit ??)

Under the cosh last ten and could have been 2-0 down at HT
No width and a lot of hit and hope balls. Take an age to take a set piece, no talking to each other

Still nicked it based on 2nd half and good win at an always difficult place.

Re: Still Dreadful (0-1 Hartlepool away win!)

Not much better . The first half we were just as bad as most of the matches so far. The forwards are quite frankly useless and whoever comes in to change things needs to get two or three players who can score . Thomas was a bit better today but he is only good at holding up the ball. Only one shot on target and Durrell scored. Better than nothing.

Important 3 points. We have to stay close to that playoff pack until January window. Hopefully they can gain some confidence from tonight. Let’s top the week off with a win on Saturday.

Deary me. Wasnt great but Lainton kept us in it. Good finish from Durrell but we're so negative it's unbelievable.

Re: Still Dreadful (0-1 Hartlepool away win!)

I want Keates gone but the bigger picture is that this league is crap so if we keep in touch until January then we can spend big if we want to.

There's every chance we could then go on to challenge so I'm not going to hope for us to lose games to get Keates the sack in a few weeks. If he gets the bullet then all well and good.

We can't wish this season away with the salary cap coming in next year which will hamper our new owners ability to outspend everyone else

Re: Still Dreadful (0-1 Hartlepool away win!)

Dreadful performance. Should have been 3-0 at HT, even second half Hartlepool had a few half chances from corners, i think we got away with it by more luck than anything.

I've got no idea what our gameplan or style of play is meant to be. It's different each week. Earlier in the season we were getting our full backs into high attacking positions and pressing high as a team. Whereas last night durrell was basically playing as a defensive left mid, and rutherford likewise on the other side.

Thomas did the best he could, after countless balls were just aimlessly hoofed up to him.

we looked threatening twice in the game, and both times was when durrell got fed up of being hung out to dry on the wing and found himself behind the striker.

Considering this is a team keates has put together himself, he has no idea how best to utilise players.

The team last night had absolutely no pace in it. We badly need hall-johnson and jeffrey just to add something different.

spend big ? thats not going to happen , just throwing money at it , wasting again , i dont R&R are stupid , the CEO will see whats needed , and thats a manager

I don't think Keates knows his best starting 11. Yes we have had some injuries and the Covid disruption hasn't helped but I don't think we have put the same squad out this season. He keeps chopping and changing and putting players in the wrong places.

Im going to put my neck on the line saying this but I honestly believe this squad with a decent manager could get us in the playoffs.

R & R know they need to spend in January. We ain't getting out of this division with loans from League 2.

Who said anything about wasting money ?

We need 4 or 5 quality players ( CB, centre mid, winger, 2 strikers) who will make all the difference. Is that a waste of money ? Their aim is promotion ASAP.

Any player worth his salts from League 2 and possibly League 1 will want to get on this ride
Whats the betting we go on a 10 game unbeaten run now?
Wouldn't that be fantastic, highly unlikely but a decent run would get us challenging which is where we need to be.

Longer term the manager's position will not necessary rely on results as shown by other richly backed clubs i.e. Utd sacking Sexton after 7 straight wins and more to our level, Salford & Fleetwood changing managers as they progress. It would be great to think we would show a bit more loyalty than that which our history proved, it had its rewards.

Short term its about results and each season every manager should get at least a dozen games and it will be better for squad stability if we dont make a change right now. DK is on borrowed time and short term needs to get us moving up into the top 7 and playing more freely as confidence builds and if he does that then, no sense unsettling things now.
