I don't think our new owners will be impressed by the ground it's a disgrace.

Re: Racecourse

it seems to me that our new owners already know what they are getting involved in, including the ground, apart from the kop the rest of the ground is structurally sound, yes facilities are poor and yes new sheeting is required, improvements can be made as we rise up the leagues on going, but if we are to be a global force we will need a bigger capacity than 15000
Due to Moss & Roberts the ground is hemmed in so not a lot of room to expand other than the kop. But I suppose in time Yale Stand can come down and build upwards as in a tiered stand.
Agree. Don't need a new ground. New kop stand and at some point in the near-mid term bulldoze the yale and replace it with a modern stand.

Ground's in a good location near to a load of ale houses and town. No need to move.

Good location but the ground is not great.

Never thought I would want to move from the Cae Ras until I went to Chesterfields new ground for the first time.

Now I think given the right location and stadium design I would be open to a move.

Re: Racecourse

I think our ground is a competitive advantage and something to be proud of. I can't really see a reason to move - it shouldn't be a priority anyway.

I've been to various new grounds, e.g. Colchester and Shrewsbury. They are fine but are soulless and in the middle of nowhere.

Ours needs some work of course, but the location is great, there is room to develop and expand, and we already have the basis place in the MRS and Yale stands. The Kop needs replacing, and the Uni end needs to be refurbished or replaced. But that would be a lot cheaper to do than moving to a new ground. End result would be a 15,000 to 20,000 stadium in a great location, with atmosphere and soul. Hopefully replace the blue seats in the Yale Stand at some point too...

The Racecourse has a history and is synonymous with our past achievements. It's part of what makes us who we are. And being able to walk there from the town centre is a big thing.

I wonder whether R&R may be more bothered about building up awareness and a fan base overseas, in the US and Canada, and growing income via streaming (and the documentary of course) rather than growing physical attendance at the stadium particularly?

This would also be relatively cheap to achieve, and much more within R&R’s skill set whereas developing the stadium would cost a fortune.

They said they wanted the stadium full every home game.

OK, fair enough, but that’s easier to achieve without making the stadium bigger. I think that attendances will naturally increase given the higher engagement and, of course, if we get better players and play better and winning football.

This has been the aim for years, but instead of getting better it's just got worse and worse, lucky to avoid relegation last year, and let's be honest it's not getting any better it's chronic to watch and I'm not going to give another penny until Keates, and his coaches have gone. New manager with a decent style of football will get me back, (covid permitting) and I want the 2Rs to show their intent and give a new manager the funds in January to win this league I see nothing outstanding in any team, the league this year is weak, just cash and commitment and it's ours for the taking.
