As the oldest international football stadium in the world, Y Cae Ras is unique: indeed, R&R have openly stated that they were originally attracted to the club and town, because of its heritage, which they have promised to maintain. On that basis alone, it would be difficult for them to ever consider attempting to move from those fields off Crispin Lane. The Racecourse can and will be upgraded over time, as it has been for hundreds of years in the past. Last edited by eastsussex; 20th November 2020 at 06.22:23.. |

I suppose that's just keeping their options open. Financially a bespoke stadium might make most sense in the long run, particularly if our fortunes improve. Im not sure what the corporate facilities are like at the Racecourse? Its severely lacking in parking and good vehicular access too. That said if the chance to own the ground comes up and the numbers work then you've got one decent modern stand, and a financial commitment from WAG to assist in redeveloping the kop. I think if it was viable most people would want to stay. |

It would be pretty strange if we had stands over 100 years old still in place. I think we should stay put and develop. Look what they've done at Anfield which is surrounded by housing. It's amazing what can be done with current construction methods. Build upwards, not outwards |
