I know these interviews are always going to be repetitive. Look, not good enough, will sort it in training and on to the next game stuff . We have just got to accept that some people, Keates amongst them, are never relaxed in post match interviews even when we win. The interviews with the players are even worse. They seem to be devoid of a sense of humour in front of a camera.

I think some are having a laugh when in front of camera's on the pitch.

It's the clubs own media channel, if you look at any other football club or infact any other sports clubs media channels then you wouldn't find any different. At the end of the day its a marketing vehicle for the club. If you want more searching interviews then that should be coming from the local journalists (which could become more national journalists once the takeover is ratified and complete).

Ok let's look at Aldershots post match interview, literally from the same time and place.

The interviewer isn't giddy and trying to become BFF's with the interviewee. Actually asks questions. Not spoon fed answers with the "questions" like how you guide children to give the answers you want to hear. Interviewer stated "It was a bit of a scrappy first half and neither side deserved to go ahead at the break?" etc.

No one is expecting Sky Sports level punditry but you do expect to hear Dean Keates' views when it's an interview with Dean Keates

Actually, most of the things the interviewer says, including the example above, aren't questions. Just statements that the manager agrees with.

The lunatics have been running the asylum, they have all played some part in the club's mediocrity.

Not long now people.

Good interviewers do not ask long questions. Their questions are open and short. We want to hear the answers not the questions. It is an art.
