Or, watch a fan watching the match as it the current fad with Premier League clubs/fans with their YouTube channels etc.

I thought JH was OK last night. If I knew a potential streamed game was having commentary by MG then I simply wouldn't bother.

As for Dixie 'at the end of the day' McNeil, well he's awful on the mic and to be fair, always has been. He wasn't very relevant back in the day on Radio Wales and he's even less so now. I could put up with him every five or six games maybe, but if he's a shoe in most weeks then like MG, I'd rather not bother.

That said, I'm grateful that for a tenner I've got the ability to watch the games and I've no real complaints, it's very much Ronseal and I'm ok with that, but to the media team guys, please don't go too far down the smashy and nicey road.

I thought JH was good last night. MG is a great servant to the club but I think his commentary is suited more for audio only - tries to explain a bit too much of what's going on when he does the stream (we know Mark, we're watching too!) and ends up saying so much he talks too quickly.

Also, as another poster said, a little bit more honesty would be good. If we're not playing well it's OK to say that. Same goes for post match interviews etc...a few more searching questions wouldn't go amiss.

Dixie is Dixie. He does sound like a bit of a dinosaur at times but I think he plays up to the grumpy old man shtick a bit, I don't mind it...

I hate to say anything against Dixie cos I remember him as a player but as a commentator he does grate at times.

Mark Griffiths said on mixir last night that we are very very lucky to have a back up goalkeeper of dibbles standard.I was stunned!

Default Re: Commentary

If we are only moaning about the commentary things must be good 😀

I think the first few games of the season were done by Ollie Williams and I thought he was great. I feel that the commentator alongside Dixie feels like he can’t have an opinion especially if it’s different to Dixie’s because of his legendary status.

The commentary in the immediate build up to the Harris/own goal from the free kick was particularly cringe worthy I thought. However overall I am more than happy with the package overall bearing in mind this is done by a team of volunteers.

Keep up the good work
