Commentary
At times, I just couldn't fathom what they were discussing. Dixie harking back to when he was a player in the 1970s is just not relevant. For people like me who didn't grow up in the 70s, I don't hold much affection for him, sadly. If we're going to be relying on this for the next few months (maybe all season) please can the club sort the commentary out. I don't want to appear ageist but there must be younger ex players who have recently retired who could do it? |

Re: Commentary
There's loads of people we could ask to do it. I thought ollie did well that first time he did it, but there's too much rambling. I got well and truly fed up of hearing about rad beer on Saturday it was ridiculous.
Professionalism should be a principle at the centre of everything we do. I know people will play the volunteer card but that's precisely why a club run on volunteer time gets my hackles up. Given what is a more global audience that we need to capitalise on, in jokes and dixie telling us he was a tough player doesn't really hit the spot. Actual analysis of the game would be nice. |

Re: Commentary
A bit harsh, IMHO.
It would be better if they had different players (past and present) to give their match analysis, rather than just relying on Dixie. Pearson is very articulate and worth a listen. Dixie did mix a few things up last night in his wrap-up, but don't we all. Personally, I quite like listening to Dixie reminisce about the 70s, but a change is as good as a rest. Last night's commentator and Mark Griffiths are 'company men', so they will give a bias towards the WST. I would suggest grown men can filter that out; otherwise, one could always listen to BBC Radio Wales, where the commentary can be equally good or bad. The advantage last night was that they had something positive to talk about on the pitch.

James Harrison was much better last night that MG was on saturday, i was so glad he was on mixlr, theres a art to commentating MG is like an 8yr old Time Vine goin for the joke world record,as for Dixie he was my hero, i could listen to him all day if hes been at the sherry or not

Re: Commentary
I appreciate MG’s enthusiasm but his toadying is cringeworthy at times.
I personally thought JH’s attempts were a lot better. We all know Dixie is a great guy and a legend - alas, he’s dire as co commentator. The new regime will demand higher standards. |

Re: Commentary
the commentary i listened to had a fella (dont know who) talking away and a lady who was hardly decipherable, between the both of them as with most commentaries you cant even work out where in the world the ball and play actually are untill there is a panic stricken scream of "its a goal"
