You are absolutely right. It was relentless throughout and well before kick off between the Welsh fans. Crazy day.

For that few seconds I felt on top of the world ! I was only about 19 so forgive me for bit of youthful exuberance !

My mate still hasn't forgiven me for loosening his front tooth, although he says it was worth it to see that game

Steve Watkin didn't buy a beer in town that night !!
Love this. Makes supporting all worth while.

Does anyone remember the Richard Pryor film, Moving?

Where he gets a new job, thousands of miles away, buys a new house only to find the new owners have removed almost every single fixture and fitting from inside the house. Even the swimming pool is gone when they arrive.

RRs new leadership team turn up on day 1, to a place where a pitch once lay. .. Stands have been disassembled even down to the pitch markings. Each individual blade of glass removed. The tarmac from the remaining car park carefully stripped.

They are taking this movie pastiche really seriously.

God, I remember that - totally mad! Another one that has always stuck in my mind was Wales v USSR in 1981, with battles and missiles throughout between Cardiff and Wrexham(Swansea somewhere in the middle. My mate got hit by a full can in the back, but when he realised it was unopened, he drank it. The match was 0-0 but I hardly saw any of it due to keeping my head down...

I wonder if people realise that amongst our ranks in the supporters Trust is an architect with experience of designing football stadiums? I asked him once why he’d never produced a plan for the redesign of the Kop, he said he’d never been asked.
I asked the Board why he’d never been approached, they said we haven’t got any money and all funds are directed at funding a team to get promotion, not building a non league stadium!

Perhaps some of the barriers could be welded together to form some type of artwork sculpture and put in a prominent place outside The Racecourse

Good idea, although I hope at least a couple are retained for inclusion in any potential club museum................... you never know

For years and years I stood on the Kop not really tall enough to get a decent view of the game - When I eventually became a 'grown up', and was really enjoying the experience, it was closed!
Still have some fantastic memories from the late 1950s and 60s.
