It was all standing terracing from the Kop, along the side of the pitch before the Yale stand was built through to the Tech end opposite the Kop.. you could freely walk around and even swap ends at half time. Mid/late 60's and I am showing my age.. some great memories still to be made at that time.. just as hopefully we have to look forward to now.

Plenty of Kop memories...

The Arsenal game....Watkin scoring the winner and me ending up about twenty metres away from where i started as the celebrations carried me all over the place!

I think we were playing Burnley in a snowstorm once and there was just me and my mates down the front (everyone else was sheltering at the back). There were chants of spot the loonies down the front! We got a good view of Wrexham's goal though!

Watching a non event cup match against Crewe i think, and being so bored we went and watched Trains shunting around in the station from the top of the steps by the food kiosk!

Might have even been the same match when they scored and everyone in the ground cheered so we could go home!!

One of the loudest chants I've ever heard from the Kop was when we played Birmingham City and a certain Archie Gemmill was playing for them and playing the pantomime villain and being his horrible self, I think every man and his dog, young, old, women and children were singing "Archie Gemmill, you're a w@nker, you're a w@anker", still lives with me now that!

I remember the Kop shop being robbed of sweets & crisps about 30 mins before kickoff.... and the culprits were just sitting at the back munching away. Cue a scene from keystone cops were the shop girl shouted stop them thieves, & to the bunch of nippers credit they dodged every single bloke chasing them & jumped through the turnstiles clean away..... minus their booty. Don’t recall the game but that was pretty entertaining!

Was on there for the Everton match when Rooney came on and scored 2. It seemed rammed on there.

Also those games towards the end of the 02-03 season when we kept winning 5-0 and 6-1 and they’d handed out pieces of paper to hold up if Morrell scored I think.

Haha that chant was brilliant and so loud as if everyone in the ground were singing it 😊

Changing ends was always interesting as the home and away fans reached the halfway line or thereabouts, especially when Port Vale came to town
