Whilst on the Steve Ingle tribute :- I used to enjoy a pint with Steve,Ian Moir, and Les Jones(ex Chester) in Jazz Club,Chester on Monday nights in the late 60s. Steve liked Gareth Davies a lot, and would ‘look after’ him when Gareth was finding his way in the game. He told me a story of how,in an away match at Brentford, the home team’s ‘hard man’ (wish I could remember his name ) had ‘done one’ on Gareth and almost broke his leg. Steve said he ‘put him right’. He didn’t go near Gareth again ! RIP Steve.

Re: Steve Ingle RiP
So sad to see we are losing some great Wrexham players and servants to the club.
Steve came from Southend bought by Alvin Williams along with so other greats. The 60’s and 70’s were certainly good exciting times. RIP Steve |

Re: Steve Ingle RiP
I seem to recall Steve playing as an emergency centre forward v Aston Villa at home in the third division (1970/71) due to an injury crisis. Possibly same match as Gaskell was injured. Anyone else remember? Let's say he was a much better right back. RIP Steve.

Re: Steve Ingle RiP
I have to admire you supporters who went to away games in the fifties and sixties. It must have been a lot more difficult than nowadays. You must have some great memories, especially watching Steve at Old Trafford.
RIP Steve. |
