No one said about banning him from getting a job, just that we do not want him at this club. Huge difference. We're not rehab and why anyone would want to gamble on him is beyond me. Even ignoring the rape trial, he's a bad apple. As mentioned, Joey Barton got rid of him for disciplinary issues. A man who many consider one of the least disciplined footballers in history got rid of a player due to his discipline.

It's funny reading this thread and seeing comments like "we're not rehab" (Kevin Thornton, Lee Fowler, Andy Mangan, James Hurst) and "if he's fallen out with Joey Barton..." (Bobby Grant)

We've taken a few punts on talented players who have only come to our level because they'd be alienated higher up

I don't think we should sign him, but it's interesting to know where the line is regarding past offences/actions that are acceptable and unacceptable

The players you've put as examples prove the point. All wrong uns bar Mangan and he was crocked. And the same was said at the time they were signed i.e. we're not rehab. Not seeing the comedy in it or what your point is.

The part about there being other players out there sums it up for me. Not sure why people obsess about Ched Evans whenever he becomes available. I'd love it if we signed some players who were better known for what they did on the pitch than being bellends off it.
