And in previous years at us(Halifax) he would have had the same injury. However Wild did say he was putting his team together with a certain style of play. Summerfield is definitely thriving in being the focal point of the team creatively. What formation did you play him in at Wrexham and what are you playing now?

We played 433 when LS was in the team, giving him a bit of freedom to get on the ball, but this season we have just switched from playing 442 to 3412.

Victim of Keates-Darlington-Davies coaching and team tactics and was one paced....slow....combined with a tendency to pass side ways instead of between the lines.

We are playing a 352, however in last 5 games we have been playing more of a 3-2-3-2. With a our wingbacks just basically being wingers. Summerfield has been playing as part of the two in front of centre halves getting ball and driving forward with it. He Really has been something else for us this season.

Start of the Ricketts era he was playing well.
He is a decent player and the problem was injuries.
If we had offered a new contract it would have been expensive if his fitness failed again.

Well done to anybody who can work out our tactics precisely.. Buggared if I know what they are..

All I know is, whatever they are it's a very.. very hard, soul destroying watch..

We probably have several other players who have failed to show their full potential in the current squad under Keates and Darlington.
Injuries aside, Summerfield had moments when his qualities stood out when played in a creative system. Unfortunately that depends on the way in which the coaching staff elect to play. I can but assume that at Halifax you play in a more expansive way which allows Summerfield to express himself.
Sadly, until we have sweeping changes here at Wrexham, players with flair are on a hiding to nothing.
Enjoy your football.. maybe we will once under new ownership, management and coaching staff.
Merry Christmas!
