On the off chance that it is true, the documentary makers have got their David Brent character sorted. The image of him legging it home to get his bats is quality.

He'll be turning up at the ground with his dog to "boost morale" after the takeover goes through and he's no longer needed.

Strange but true, I can confirm that this did indeed happen. Spencer was a junior table tennis champion and suggested to the documentary crew that they filmed him playing table tennis on the pitch underneath the floodlights, even his allies on the board are absolutely fuming with him as it costs hundreds of pounds just to turn the floodlights on and have accused him of going rogue.

His ego is unfortunately bigger than our massive floodlights.
