I'm referring more to the term cavalry for the new owners. It sounds like a a snarky snipe at them.

There are people elsewhere on social media suggesting that they are keeping Keates in post so we struggle on purpose so they can come in as heroes. Your post made me think of that.

Interesting how those putting up resistance against the takeover early doors are now the ones spreading these rumours.

I have pretty much zoned out to caring about the on field matters until the take over is complete and virtually the entire club has a clear out. No point in whinging about the board not sacking Keates as we know they ain't going to do it. Can't wait for the board to be gone, they are so bad too.

Got to be more complex than just sacking the manager during the closing stages of a takeover.
When do you sack the manager? Who sacks him? Who takes interim control of the team? When do you start looking for a new manager?
Who has the authority to make the appointment?
Do the current board ask Peter Moore to have an input from L.A. or involve R & R before the deal is done?
What if there are delays in signing the takeover deal.
Who looks for players in the January sales?
The only thing we can do is wait for the deal to be done and hope that there's time to recruit a new management team and better players 'cos I wouldn't trust Keates with the petty cash let alone an additional budget.

That's fine if you accept we are not promotion contenders and are lower mid table fodder. Which we probably are.
