Even if there were no formal provisions in the SPA stopping the WST sacking Keates et al yet, it would be pretty risky. I can’t think of any football takeover when the seller has sacked the management team mid-takeover.

I want Keates and them all gone ASAP more than anyone, but we need to be realistic it’s not going to happen, and it’s certainly not a stick to beat the board/WST with, nor something I can imagine influenced by the documentary.

The problem is who pays off the contracts and who hires the new management team?

If the WST sack them without consulting with R&R then the new owners will be saddled with a 6 figure hole in the accounts they won't have agreed to fill.

Also, I would guess R&R have got a good idea of who they might want in charge; for the interest of this example let's imagine it's the Cowley brothers. Now imagine Keates is sacked by the WST and the Cowleys are appointed on £100k+ contracts on the advice of the new owners, but then, god forbid, the takeover doesn't go through then the WST are stuck with a contract they can't afford to pay.

Unfortunately it feels like we are in limbo at the moment and we're just going to have to wait for the takeaway to be completed before we see a change.

The documentary would be a condition for the takeover I'm afraid. As much as R&R seem like top guys they wouldn't be doing it if they couldn't document it on film. It will be financing a lot of the investment they'll be making.

I'm not mad on documentaries if I'm honest, especially if they're filming inside the dressing room, it will restrict what a manager feel they can or can't say. Nobody would want to be the next John Sutton (YouTube him if you don't know the name).

All we can hope is that everyone gets used to it and forgets the cameras are there after a while.

Absolutely this. WST don't have the money to sack him. All their/our eggs are in one basket...the takeover.
Deliberately losing and risking a relegation all for a documentary. Give your head a wobble. They can turn to Peter Moore for advice. Inner Circle Sports are also there.
Can we get back to the "takeover update" threads, instead of threads like this.

Was just reading about Burnley's takeover which is expected to be finalised within the next 48 hours after 6 months of talks, after one rival buyer who has been in talks for 14 months pulled out😳

They’ll need subtitles when Keates speaks to know what he’s saying. No doubt the word “look” will appear a lot.
