Agree 2 centre midfielders and 2 forwards could transform the side.A competent manager should be able to utilise Jarvis or Redmond as the No.10.Hopefully Yussuf would not be recalled from loan as a good bench option. If Keates left would not be difficult to ditch Harris (Tranmere back ?),Anthony supposedly short term deal and Rutherford can be loaned to Conference North.Ponticelli might also benefit from a loan to rebuild his confidence.
Sounds good. How long will all that business take given that there are 28 days in the transfer window, the takeover is not done, keates is still the manager etc?

Get a decent manager and coach in squad will soon look good enough
It is a lot to expect but if the takeover is completed by the middle of the month and we sign a few good players, I’ll expect us to finish in the top 7.
Some Interesting Odds Now
Top 7 Finish 6/4 Bet Victor
Promotion 12/1 Bet Victor
Champions 40/1 Sky Bet

After watching the first two streams only I agree completely with your views.
We might have some reasonable defenders but up front there is absolutely nothing which convinces me they can score goals . We are a very average side ,not looking as if it will improve this season. Torquay will win it , Stockport might go up from the play offs and we will finish anything between 12th and 16th.
In fairness, before the takeover talks began, this was all I was expecting anyway. Maybe 10th at a push. I didn't expect Keates to take us down, just not to take us up either.

Now we've (nearly) got a bit of a warchest we should take advantage of an on-average weak league. Granted it'd be a very Wrexham way to do it the one season we're not allowed fans in the ground to see it but still, any promotion is a good promotion.
Not give up, but be realistic in our expectations for this season. All these new signings we want along with a new manager are not usually a recipe for flying up the league table immediately.
With £2m shortly to be invested (which all the other clubs around us can only dream of) and the steering/guidance of the ex Liverpool CEO my expectation is that we will close the 2 point gap to secure at least a play off spot with 30 games remaining.

Why do you not expect at least that ? What makes the other clubs around us vying for those play off spots more capable ?

Just sayin
Completely disagree, our 2 most recent promotions were seasons when we brought in Mike Lake (1993) & Scott Green (2003) mid way through those seasons. We were doing nothing in mid table both times before those players came in and controlled our midfield.

Lake in particular was an ex Premier League player and it showed. He had the ball like it was on a piece of elastic and everyone around him went up 10% because we controlled possession.Football is a simple game made complicated by idiots like Keates & Darlington

If we bring in 2 or 3 quality players we can still do this via the play offs but we need to bin Keates to do it
In both of your examples did we need?

New management
New coaching
New training facillities
New players
Renewal of the youth system
Renewal of the reserves system

Not to mention the changes which are required for club ethos, ambition and infrastructure.

Even if we did get the management and coaching we need it's not going to take a few weeks for them to turn this ship around.

I'm as excited about this takeover as much as you are, but this club's a shell. This season is about giving some pride back to the fans, something to enjoy and shout about, something to look forward to. The foundations we need for success are gone, they need to be rebuilt so our success can really begin next season.

How can anyone claim the WST did a good job after reading this?

You obviously have a lot more optimism than I do. I’d like you to be right, of course I would. I just don’t see us turning into a great team as soon as we sign 6 players and get a new manager. It’ll take time.

The new manager will have to find a way to accommodate Ruthers first and foremost.
