At one point we trained on the Racecourse carpark, because although we were L2 (Championship) we were skint and having sold Stansty to LEX XI previously some idiot at the club fell out with them over paying to rent it back during the week, so WFC were informed that the facility was no longer available.

Lots of fans have short memories, although it is easy to just remember the good times. Those of us who have supported Wxm for many decades have seen more tough times than great times. Over the years I have become accustomed to thinking Wxm were on the up only for news to break, that we were in financial trouble and our best players were being sold to survive. Hopefully, this takeover will be different and the infrastructure of the club will be greater than ever before in our history and we all enjoy some good times for the foreseeable.

What annoys me is we left colliers some years ago. Those who make decisions about where we train clearly think the nine acre, or a similar setup at the groves are sufficient in 2021.
