One person saying they'll need to throw millions at it.

Personally, I think just getting the club running professionally and efficiently with a new football management team will make a huge difference regardless of the money thrown at it.

well the documentary could be funding the £2m, but you are right on the fans.

If R&R attend the first match of next season, it would be a sell out. if we start winning and they attend a few more, then our average could easily be 6k

Torquay are looking very good for promotion they have been up down, back up and down and down even more to national league South, they have come back up and overtook us again.. The Wst have basically held this club back with SH and the rest on ego trips, time to move forward with a total clear out.

Fans will have to be very patient when the new owners take over, Rome wasn't built in a day.

Their is a massive amount of work needed to rebuild this club back up from the pit it resides in.

Wst have taken this club backwards in so many ways it could take up to 5 yrs or more to regain our league status. Unless they throw millions at it which I cannot see happening.

I'm not sure Torquay are a great example. Their owners are property developers who have a really dodgy history with other football and sports stadia.

But they did do one thing right, which was bring in a manager who knows what he's doing, and this is why they are top of the league.

Personally I dont think we need the huge amounts of investment you suggest. Key investment in neglected areas can completely turn us around. Moving away from decisions being made by committees of people who don't understand football will be a big step forward.

Lincoln went up on investment of about £300k. They just spent it properly. I remember one of their fans posting about it a while back. I don't think Macclesfield broke the bank when they went up either although their owner is a massive tit.

The Trust had the Ward money, 1.8 million wasn't it? and blew it all on mind numbingly stupid decisions. Had that money been in the hands of people who had a clue then we'd probably be a league club by now, or at least have a good manager and team in place and not be training on an abandoned school field with no facilities.

So yeah 2 million is plenty if you know what you're doing. It won't just be that though, thats too simplistic.

I believe that it's almost impossible to bring in a successful manager to guarantee success. Very often it's good fortune and the old 'lightning in a bottle' situation.

When Mills was brought in, most thought he was the proven manager needed to get us promoted. For about 2 or 3 months it looked like the case until it all went tits up. Vose was sold, Moke went off the boil and the great football we were playing completely evaporated.

None of these examples change the fact that DK is NOT the right man. So yes the next man will always be a gamble but failure to progress/entertain is a dead cert under DK.

Whilst the takeover is welcome, I think fans should keep their feet firmly planted on the ground.
£2 million is a decent sum of money to get the ball rolling but ultimately the amount of money spent depends on the Philanthropy of R & R irrespective of increased crowds and commercial revenue.
The club might still be self funding if all goes well and achieve league status again. The dream though could easily be tarnished by over expectation.
A CEO of good standing, a director of football, a new management team and coaching staff, more paid staff, ground improvements, new training facilities.
Better(more expensive) players and their accommodation. £2million doesn't sound that much when these things are considered.
I trust R&R to be true to their word and inject the necessary funds but don't expect instant results. This season is likely to be written off unless we can get a new manager in who can turn things around and attract the players needed to do the job. Betting odds for next sesaon are likely to be short.

You will note i never suggested that we would get promoted this season. My only point is that £2m is sufficient to replace the current underperforming management structure and add some needed playing staff. The playoffs is an absolute possibility this season but i have been coming too long to take anything for granted.
