I don’t think anyone would resign this near to the finishing post. It’s pretty obvious something major has happened - quite possibly in his private life or work life - it can happen !!! Although the smoke signals seem to point to a major disagreement or disappointment. It’s one of these 2 if I were to put a bet on it.

Really? For someone in a non-paid role? I'd imagine Spencer isn't receiving a pay-off from the Trust.

There'll be months of mud flinging once the deal is complete however, it will all be irrelevant.

As posters like Dixienormous say, it'll be great getting back to just being a supporter.
