Re: Ray smith
Yes that goal at Liverpool when he outjumped Ron Yeats. The picture was in the window of the Leader office fr years. We led Liverpool at half time.Everton were also in at home in the Cup,drawing 0-0 and ,so the story goes, the biggest cheer at Goodison that day was for the half-time score from Anfield.
Thanks for the memories of 51 years ago Ray. Rest in peace and heartfelt condolences to your family.

Re: Ray smith
Without doubt, one of my favourite footballers to put on the red of Wrexham.one of my everlasting memories apart from his goal at Anfield was to take time of work and travel up to Workington in 1967.Standing on the Workington Kop I shouted “Come on Smithy”. before Kick Off.His face was a picture looking to see who had shouted. We lost 2-0 and they made sure that Brian Tinnion did not see the 90 minutes through.
God bless you Ray. R.I.P.
