I first attended, with my Dad, in Sept. 1948. I would always go down to the fence behind the Tech End goal. One goalkeeper that sticks in my mind was Archie Ferguson, a tough goalie who knew how to deal with to hard centre forwards of the time!

I reckon around 1970 and can remember vividly Aston Villa at the Racecourse. Occasional visits interspersed with trips to Goodison to see Everton in their title winning season. Joe Royle, the Holy Trinity and a young Alan Whittle being my first heroes. Saw the Palace and Mansfield games where promotion was missed out on but was then fortunate to see most of the games in the promotion winning season. As a 14 / 15 year old, I absolutely loved Bobby Shinton.

First match would have been mid seventies with my dad when I was about 6 or 7. Started going regularly again about 86 to 87 when I could afford it. Been a regular ever since.

earliest memories of Racecourse are of the singing element being based in the Tech end, and the fans singing "when the red red Robin goes bobb bobb bobbing along, shoot the B------d, shoot the B-------d" i could never work out why they wanted to shoot the poor Robin
