Default Re: When did you start attending matches regular?

Mine was in 92 I think it was, it was against Rochdale and we won 2-1 I was 10 years old and I've been going ever since, my first away games were in that fabulous cup run in the mid 90's when we beat Peterborough, West ham, Birmingham etc, dad took me to every away game in the cup with one of my mates, don't get to many away ones now because of work but have only missed a handful of home games since I started going back in 92

As for football. Some of the team were part timers but were lions compared to the apologies that wear the shirt today. The club was run by volunteers who also ran their own businesses. They were not self publicists but and even then took some stick when the team didn't perform well. However some were a different class when it came to keeping the club on the straight and narrow.

As a young fan you might be lucky enough to have a rattle scarf and bobble hat but certainly no replica rip off shirts to tempt you ----Happy days eh! Oh, as for the chips ---- they could be bulked up with free scratching at Turners in Abbott Street.
Must have been around the time the club was founded in 1864

No that would have been 2004? Although there were a few where that protest took place

If that was the Fans United game, then it would have been against Bristol City, with Brighton helping rally the troops

Mine was early 70s. Sat on grass behind goal at kop end until a police officer told me to get back down. Frightened the life out of me! Remember that but not much of the game.

Ah, the good old days, when kids did as the police said.

Early to mid 60s - used to sit on my dad's knee in the old wooden Mold Road stand.

My first was a pre season friendly against Mansfield (I think!) in 1966 and hardly missed a home until 1974 when I went to Uni. After that I saw them more away from home and try and catch at least a couple of games a season
