Default Re: Summer Dealings

I think people are massively underrating Kelleher.

My keep list is similar to others:

Lainton
RHJ
Kelleher
Vassell (as back up)
French
Young
Angus
Jarvis
Davies

That leaves us room for about 11-12 new players

We could keep Ruthers around, maybe on the Ground staff.

I would retain most of the squad but the difference for next season is 3 things:
1) The players we release are replaced not with squad fillers but with players who have the potential to be the best player in the team.
2) We have a slightly bigger squad of ideally 22-25 first team players.
3) Management and infrastructure - Whether that's Keates or not, I would hope that under new ownership we will have better backroom staff who can improve players in the squad.

Christian Dibble - Keep as back up
Rob Lainton - Keep - not getting a better keeper at this level
Dawid Szczepaniak- Release- 3rd choice keeper can be a academy player

Shaun Pearson - Keep- very tough call based on the last 2 seasons but for his leadership and more of a squad player I would keep him.
Fiacre Kelleher - Keep
Tyler French - Keep
Theo Vassell - Keep
Mark Carrington - Keep - he can cover numerous positions and doesn't let you down
Max Cleworth - Release- unless someone has seen potential in him and he gets a year on loan to develop
James Horsfield - Keep - can cover all across the back so worth another year
Jamie Reckford - Keep as back up
Reece Hall Johnson - Keep

Paul Rutherford- Release
Luke Young- Keep
Devonte Redmond - Release - Unless he performs really well in the last few months of the season - clearly talented but it hasn't worked for him or us.
Dan Jarvis - Keep
Jay Harris - Keep as back up - Great cover, experienced, legs might be going but won't get a better back up at this level.
Elliott Durrell - Release
Jordan Davies - Under contract but I would keep

Dior Angus- Under contract but haven't been to impressed so far jury is still out on him
Jake Bikerstaff - Release- Unless management see potential and a year on loan
Jordan Ponticelli - Under contract- can't work out what's happened to him and I would try and move him on.
Kwame Thomas - Keep - not everyone's cup of tea but has scored a few, energetic, physical and a good platform to build off.

Providing no under contract players leave that gives us 17 players so 5 quality additions in LB, 2 CM'S, 2 Strikers

Next season team would be:
Lainton
Hall Johnson
French
Kelleher
Vassell
New Lb/ Davies

New CM
New CM/Young

Jarvis/ Davies

New Striker
New Striker/ Kwame
is this a wind up?

Default Re: Summer Dealings

Keep
Lainton
Dibble - Has proven himself this season as a decent backup after last seasons theatrics.

Hall-Johnson - As said on here, if he could defend like he could attack he'd be at a much higher level. Even with an increased budget you'd do well to find better attacking full backs at this level.

Kelleher - Good centre-half, needed at this level.

French - Based off the two games I've seen him he looks a decent signing.

Jarvis - We look a lot better when this guy is in the team, and even if we do get better he would make a good squad player.

Young - We know the player he can be, again if we do get better you'd like to think we can now afford players like Young as good squad players.

Undecided
Reckord - Have to say was delighted when we signed him as he has always impressed me for Solihull, he was then massively disappointing at first, but now seems to be adjusting well to the system and is a solid option, improving going forward too. Again though, with an improved budget, we could probably do better, but I'd like to see if he improves further.

Thomas - A few weeks ago he'd have been first on my release list, but he has transformed of late, especially with Angus coming in. He could be an attacking option rather than our main man as someone has said.

Horsfield - Seems a decent enough player if not spectacular.

Get Rid
Vassell - Bang average for me.
Pearson - Love the guy but he's crocked and past his sell by date. Could have another role around the club though.
Redmond - Talented player overshadowed by apparent attitude problems.
Harris - Legs have gone
Durrell - Just so slow
Rutherford - Thank you for your efforts but it's time to go, and it should have been 2/3 years ago
Carrington - Forgot he still played for us until our recent injury crisis

Jesus H......we're now probably one of the richest clubs outside the Championship but our fans want us to buy a player we've had before and frankly wasn't good enough.

Live in the past and we'll continue to be NL

Your right Alan the same question was asked two games ago I think many fans and myself had only Lainton down as a squad player for next season, two wins and new owners and we only need 6 players in the summer.

To be fair Quigley is proven at this level, good enough and has won promotion from this league-something only a couple of our players has done.He was never managed properly here rnd of story. Topic getting a bit strange when people judge Quigley not to be good enough and want Harris to be kept on.
