Up until the mistake, we were in control of the game and had the better chances. After the goal, we lost our way and never got back into it. A very heavy pitch sorted the men from the boys. Reckord spent most of it walking. The wrong thread but my match ratings:

Dibble 2 cost us first 2 goals. Lainton saves both.
Reckord 3 worst left back we’ve had at this level
RHJ 4 very little influence on the game
Kelleher 4 struggled to command from the back
Carrington 3 just poor. Not his strongest position and struggled
French 5 slightly better than the others but again struggled
Horsfield 2 offered nothing and baffling that keates started him in midfield
Davies 3 pondered on the ball to much.
Young 2 completely anonymous again.
Angus 3 makes decent runs but another typical keates signing. He won’t score enough goals.
Thomas 4 won headers and battled more than most of the others

Further to the Keates interview, he right away blamed the pitch as "dead" (although it applies to both teams) he moaned about the pens not given and said "look" well over a dozen times, stated we have to "learn" from this result..oh and we go again Tuesday! standard rambling.

So Listening to Keates interview - we go away to a team struggling to put an eleven out due to injuries and suspension and have numerous square pegs in round holes yet we change our shape to bring in a defensive midfield to nullify a threat the didn’t then exist because they didn’t play him ?? WTF

Typical defensive mindset that will see us going nowhere ... other teams would attack and go for the jugular... the Aldershot commentary team couldn’t believe their luck. They knew that was a game for the taking for us . If we can’t do it under those circumstances we have no chance.

Yes, Dibble made a schoolboy clanger but with a decent manager we’d have won that 5-1 .It’s not his fault we lost that game.

Dibble is the fall guy for many. He made a mistake but has otherwise done a good job. The players must bear some responsibility but, ultimately, Keates is the root cause for most of our problems. He is too timid and lacks a tactical brain.

Lainton saves 2 of the 3 goals. The team performance after the first goal was abysmal. I blame keates 100% for yesterday’s defeat.

Unfortunately it is a symptom of Wrexham FC under Dean Keates. Scared to death of us imposing ourselves.

Aldershot were in disarray and we were on the back of 6 unbeaten and 2 wins on the bounce so WE change OUR set up to nullify them ??

It's just incredibly weak management. In these situations you impose yourselves and be ruthless. There was blood in the water and we not only let our prey get away, we got badly injured when we should have made the kill.

This lack of ruthlessness will change once we get our new CEO in place as there will now be a cascade of accountability that there hasn't been at this club for decades.

People will actually need to justify themselves to their paymasters and I can't wait as it will drive a mentality of 'we must win' rather than 'we don't really want to lose if we can help it'

It’s not possible to tell.

Dibble was in goal. He was at fault for the first but otherwise did OK.

But Keates lacked the confidence to go for a win, and there were too few leaders on the pitch when the going got tough.

Regardless, it’s now history. But will Keates repeat his mistakes on Tuesday?

Probably!

Nail on head. We went there with the wrong mindset, yet again.
