I admire Keates for defending Dibble, who made one horrendous mistake to cost the goal. I also think he had a point about the first penalty shout when their defender flung himself to stop the shot and it hit his outstretched arm. He was also correct about not taking those chances early on. These things turn around games.

However, he wasn’t man enough to say he got it wrong by droppping Jarvis — who, along with Davies, is currently playing well — and he could not explain why we collectively worsened as the game went on.

Aldershot is gone. He will be judged by how he does his job on Tuesday. Regardless how we do, we need better.

Not for the first time, the interviewer was pathetic. Keates was saying we should have gone long because of the pitch, FFS what were we doing for 90min, does he think we were playing football. To me, Keates looked quite relaxed, does he think he's got more time at the club than we want?
