Actually, it was not created with this aim. Not until 8th June, 2011 did they amend Rule 2 to include:

vi) to maintain a professional Football League club in Wrexham and at the Racecourse ground.
vii) to have at least one Trust nominated director on the Board of Wrexham Football Club.
viii) to raise sufficient funds to buy a stake in the club in pursuance of the above aims.

In March, 2012 the original rules were replaced in full by the Sports Direct model.

In February 2015 the Sports Direct rules were amended to allow Board members to serve an unlimited number of consecutive terms.

The original aim was:

i) To strengthen the bonds between the Club and the community which it serves and to represent the interests of the community in the running of the club.

I think the WStT should now revert to this.

The same question could be posed about all of the supporters groups as their aim in the main appears to be to raise funds for the club, question is will people still want (if able)to attend race nights, quizzes etc when the club under new ownership would appear not to really need the funds?

The supporters clubs are more of a social thing for fans in that area to get together to support the club and raise funds when necessary. So they will still serve a purpose definately.

As far away from the football club as possible please. They could attempt the world record for meaningless meetings and mandates possibly?

The trust have the lease on the ground and that provides a degree of security.
It does seem strange that improvements to the ground will have to be endorsed by both the Trust and the UNI, though I can't envisage circumstances where the trust would object.

Do the trust continue with their community efforts, especially with autistic kids and the partially sighted? ( With the football clubs approval)
Do we as a club, sit back and enjoy the ride on the coat tails of Rob and Ryan or do we still raise funds and take an active role in our future?
Who sits on the Honorary board and can represent the club, on a dirty wet night in Torquay or Barrow, Hartlepool or Southend?
Will there still be a requirement for Volunteers?
Will trust / football club membership still have priority benefits?
The future role of the WST needs to thrashed out by its executive and members. The current constitution is now null and void, so a new, more flexible one needs to be created.

I agree that some reflection is needed, and we neither need to rush into something nor be be rail-loaded into something dreamt up by a clique. This has to be opened up, shortcomings acknowledge and addressed, and then move on.

There is still a role for the WST, hence why I will keep my subscription for now. But I do want to see a more open and democratic way forward. The WST cannot fix the world, but it can help Wrexham AFC develop under R&R's stewardship.

As the next responder says they are largely there as a means for social get togethers especially the ones well away from Wrexham. See no reason for that to change but I do agree that fund raising for the club can stop forthwith. No point chipping in a few quid to help out owners who would not miss a few million.
Although there no possibility of it happening this season lets not forget that before the pandemic there were around 200 supporters who went to most away games from all over the country. I was one of them and see no reason why that should change under new ownership.
