Was gutted when he left, haven’t seen anyone as talented as him.

Didn’t he miss the Bury match after being arrested?

The signing of Scott Green was the final cog required for that side, he was phenomenal in that run in.

Great times, Bury away, or what I remember of it, for the final game was a cracking day out!

I remember that season with so much joy. We had 2 home games against Carlisle and Cambridge and if we won both we were guaranteed promotion and I was convinced we would blow it and we won 6-1 and 5-0! Dreamland. To add to the glory, I live in the London area and our next game was against Leyton Orient so was able to go and instead of having a nerve shredding decider it was a promotion party! I was nearly 20years younger as well!

I think you have to look at Dennis Smith and the way he used his players. Never asked players to play in alien positions unlike our current leader. Always got the best out of his team. A proper manager, again like we haven’t got today.

Didn't we loose Morrell and Trundle after that season?

One of the best seasons watching football for Wrexham because you knew we were an attacking force. That Swansea game when was great viewing as we played them off the pitch.

Forgot about that Rochdale game when we lost 5-2. Absolute Crazy match and we could have scored about 7.

McEvilly was playing for them and ran our defence ragged I thought. Then we signed him and errrr..... you can guess the rest.

Steve Roberts, Paul Edwards and Jim Whitley were also important players that season. Pejic being the only weak link.

Paul Barrett was another weak link. But the few ropey players we had were more than compensated for by the excellent players in that squad who carried them along.
