I seen 2 promotions 93 and 03. Who would win if the 2 teams played each other you reckon ?

Best team from those two

Dibble 03

Edwards 03
Lawrence 03
Carey. 03
Humes 93
Edwards 03

Whitley 03
Ferguson 03
Connolly 93

Trundle 03
Bennett 93

So hard to leave out Morrell, Watkin, Phil Hardy and Mile Lake . The only weak link in either team was Mark Morris.

Phil Harry’s career seemed to take a nosedive when wingbacks became a thing.

Steve Roberts was a great centre half too, his ability on the ball was brilliant.

I didn’t realise Holmes played so much that season.

Good times.
Me too, was at uni and my house was literally 1 minute from the away end. I heard a lot about Steve Flack from my housemates that night.

Cracking team, Morrell was phenomenal that year and Fergie wasn't Peter Ward but he was still quality, with Smith getting the right formation and system for the players. Carlos and Paul were so dangerous as wing backs.

If you go to 41mins 30seconds on the part 2 video, there is a 1-0 loss away to Exeter. I remember after the game on here (or was it webbed robin then) the collective gloom that it was probably over for the season as we where too far behind and form was faltering.

We then went 14 games unbeaten to the end of the season to get automatic promotion playing truly wonderful football.
I didn't go, but I remember Dave Lovett's report in the Leader, where he concluded by writing about 'the sad sight of Wrexham fans disappearing into the night' as they walked away from the ground. That has stuck with me ever since, summing up the feelings after defeat in a night game a long way from home.

The promotion season were excellent times but don't forget we did have 2 relegations under Denis.

I'll never forget travelling to Oxford around this time, possibly a season before this. It was one hell of a game at their old Manor ground.(What a crazy ground that was) We beat them 4-3, brilliant game and there was a picture of me and a few mates climbing the fences at the end in the evening leader.

Anyway, it was the game Steve Roberts broke his leg. Horrible that was, very similar to Wayne's break at Scunthorpe, I also witnessed.

Great days though. Soon to return.
