When I opened Red Passion this morning,I was greeted by Highlights which made me laugh my socks off. LOWLIGHTS would be more accurate a title.Is there a case under The Trade Description Act? What a joke.

It’s hideous isn’t it.
But this is nothing new, it’s not the first time we’ve had no shots in a game, negative tactics, and draw a blank.

The players must be demotivated, privately, and it’s no coincidence that players come here with a good reputation, start well, then after a few games of being played out of position, dropped, or getting no service due to negative tactics, their career at Wxm grinds to a halt.
Then when they go elsewhere, with attacking tactics, good supply of chances to score goals, and a positive energy from their manager rather than Look and incoherent mumbling, their careers pick up again.

I often wonder what exactly is in the minds of Keates, PE Teacher and Darlo.
I can only assume, perhaps wrongly, that they’re using a methodology which the Welsh FA deploys. Emphasis on keeping things tight, don’t concede a goal is the priority, try to choke a game, and then nick a single goal somehow, some games a 1-0 win, other games 0-0, mission accomplished for a campaign, with that pattern.

If that’s what it is that our coaching team are trying to do, they’re deluded. Those tactics are not only the opposite of entertaining, but moreover they’re only deliverable with world class players.

We don’t have that, we have professionals who are at the lowest level in the game before their career is at an end. The fifth tier. They have some ability, and that means sometimes, in spite of (not because of) our tactics and formation, they break the chains and deliver a surprise win, and a few goals.

But most of the time, they follow the stifling advice, and they end up never threatening the opposition goal, and inevitably due to their ability they make mistakes. Mistakes that are punished most games, and then we have no reply as we were set up Not To Lose. It’s foolish to expect our players to Never Make Mistakes, in midfield and at the back.

Since the game was invented, it was all about scoring goals, attacking, and playing with freedom.

The negative stuff our coaching team are trying to make work, never ever will.

No club ever got out of the NLP with this approach, they’ve always done it with the 100 goals 100 games approach. Short of that, most seasons, of course, but that was always the aim, for each club that’s gone up. To outgun the opposition, play with flair, with attitude, and of course purely by coincidence it’s lovely to watch as well... so it ticks the entertainment box.

Just my thoughts and ramblings on what I think Keates and co are trying to do, and in my humble opinion, it will never work.

As it stands, we can't get relegated. So why the hell are we not just going for it every game?
If ultimately it ends with us outside the playoffs so be it but at least we will have had a good go!

I reckon they are just letting him bumble along , like Inspector Clouseau ,till they bugger him off at the end of the season , personally
