Default English Youth Cup

I have been following the Youth Cup results for the EFA. Noticed that Wrexham scratched from the completion back in October handing a walk over to their opponents.
Can anyone on here explain why the club failed to play that match?

I think it was to do with Wales being in lockdown the youth could not travel as not 'Elite'

Think a few senior away games we didnt have a full bench for same reason. Maybe FA Cup with than allowing for 7 subs.

Thanks for that. I am still a bit confused re Welsh Government Covid rules because Newport seemed to manage unless they are deemed to be elite? Does elite count?

I'm not sure, but they didn't have to enter the competition until 2 months after us so maybe the restrictions had been relaxed by then. Things were definitely less strict at the start of December for round 1 proper.

Drakeford doesn’t like the idea of people staying healthy by playing sport outside. He would rather them ”stay home” , not move and breathe unventilated air.
