It's a long time since Mickey put on a Wrexham shirt and sadly many of our fellow supporters will not have seen him play. He is certainly a man with a big personality and is known for his broadcasting but it is always good to remember what an excellent player he was. If we are to move forward we need to find players of his attitude,skills and determination. I agree we need to look forward and not back but after so many years out of league footballand some dire teams and management it is worth relating a quote from J.K. Rowling, 'Rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life.'
She certainly managed that and with the help of a few more like Mickey I'm sure we can do it too.

Good podcast and good interview with Mickey. My only gripe was how dismissive he was of this league and teams like Kings Lynn and Wealdstone. We are here for a reason albeit with our recent good fortune that shouldn't be the case for too long. I think part of the boom and bust attitude we have had to players and managers in recent years is down to the view of maybe older supporters that due to us being in the championship 40 years ago we should be hammering everyone in non league 5-0 playing total football

Feel totally the opposite... I think we've been told we are wrong for having expectations for so long now that our expectations have been totally dulled. It's embarrassing that we've dropped to this level and stayed for so long...

I get it though we dropped for off field reasons. I would agree we shouldn’t have been here this long.

From speaking to him, he's a very positive bloke and it comes from a place of wanting the best for Wrexham and for the club to do better. Of course you have to respect your opponents regardless of what division you're in but we need that self belief back.

So what about the 15 clubs that got relegated to the National league after us but got promoted back into the football league before us?Also 5000 average crowds and our average placing over the last 12 seasons is 12th.

I think that us ‘older’ supporters have stuck by the club through thick and thin and have bugger all to do with ‘boom and bust’ . Our failure to secure promotion back to where we clearly belong has been down to failure on and off the pitch within the club not in the stands. If the older brigade had deserted the club after so many years of abject failure god only knows where we would be now ?
