Default Re: Humphrey says - New membership scheme

WE will begin with the worst kept secret in town which is the arrival of the LED boards.

They are being installed, positioned, and calibrated at The Racecourse as I type this. OMM, the company providing them to us, has done work for huge clubs like Liverpool and Celtic and even some smaller regional clubs like Manchester United.

The boards have been delivered from a warehouse in Wigan and before that, from Wembley Stadium, which is where they previously lived. I believe they are the same boards that would have been at Wembley for the Trophy Final in 2013, so they have experience of seeing Wrexham lift trophies that I hope will stand them in good stead over the next few years.

They will be visible and in action for the first time when we play against Bromley on Saturday.

Everybody who had a ground board with us was given a corresponding advert on the LED boards so you will see lots of familiar companies and other more unexpected ones as well!

We are also launching the early signup for our new membership scheme very soon.

We are encouraging people to sign up before May 31 to get free membership to the club for the 2021-22 season.

If people go on the club website or the club's twitter account, there will be a link there for people to sign-up in advance of us announcing the full scope for the 2021-22 membership scheme.

Right now, people can only become members of Wrexham Supporters Trust rather than members of the actual club and that is something we are looking to change.

Finally, we would like to say how much we welcomed the news about the Gateway Project funding that is coming from the Welsh government.

It is great for the redevelopment of Wrexham's transport links and for the town as a whole.

I don't believe the parts of the project that involve the redevelopment of the Kop stand are fully financed yet, but it's a great start. The football club are eager to play an active part in the project and look forward to continuing our very positive conversations with the Council, University and Welsh Government.

Redeveloping the Kop is really high on our list of objectives. That is the part of the Gateway Project that interests us very much, unsurprisingly!

We have already engaged internationally-renowned AFL Architects to assist us in developing plans for The Racecourse of the future and we can't wait to bring it and its improved matchday experience to the people of Wrexham.

Now, I hate to re-use material, but since we haven't had a game since my last column, bring on Bromley. #COYR

I realise he has the benefit of RandR’s funds to spend but the volume of work he is getting through really shows what we all knew all along - the club needed a full time CEO and not being reliant on part time volunteers

All those with a ground advert have been given a corresponding electronic advert - nice, I like that.

A new membership scheme is about to be launched - sign up before 31st May and get free club membership- have a look at the club website or Twitter! This is different to the WST membership.

Finally great news on the gateway project. The parts that involve the redevelopment of the Kop arenít fully financed yet but it is a start. Redeveloping the kop is high on the list or priorities and the club have had very positive conversations with the Council, the Uni and Welsh Government.

The club want to play an active part and have engaged architects to assist us in redeveloping the Racecourse and bring an improved match day experience.

He is also getting to 'know the area' which is the no. 1 trait we look for in any signing.
