Exciting times
There's a lot more going on behind the scenes than people realise. No more WST applause of mediocrity and now there's accountability for management and players. Standards have been set and it's showing

Don't get carried away I would say 6 games is no reflection of the marathon league programme. Form is temporary and can change in a flash, just look at Torquay. What will be more important is how we respond when we lose a game and how we get something out of very tight games.

'Snuck' ? 3-0 2-0 2-0 4-1 victories is hardly snuck

Last weekend was the biggest turn of the tide for me... I appreciate this sounds backwards but I don't actually feel that promotion is my priority above all else - it's more about having a team who put in a decent performance like they actually give a damn about the club and their place in the team.

Not ready to declare keates a tactical genius because if he can lead the team to solid performances now, why couldn't he do that months ago. It doesn't really come down to resources because Angus aside the squad isn't that different...leadership and expectation have been muted for years now and I imagine new ownership has injected some self belief and desire. But... Long may it continue, and if keates can somehow deliver a result this year then more than happy to eat my words.

Promotion has to be the number one priority for anyone associated with Wrexham FC. That is the first stepping stone towards future success - without that we accept being just another non-league outfit - albeit with Hollywood owners, massive floodlights and fancy perimeter advertising boards. "Promotion not being a priority" reminds me of the start of this season (and of the many seasons before that) when such apathy was synonymous of the way our club used to be run. We have moved on in a very short period of time and have earned the opportunity to challenge for promotion.
By choice, any promotion should follow a season where fans have been able to be there at games but I would settle right now for just being at the one big match and get promoted via the playoff final (there seems a chance that fans may be allowed at that one). OK, if we fail to go up "there's always next season" but, even with new owners and, one would expect some new players, we are likely to be bookies favourites to win the league. That makes us the team that everyone else will want to beat and, as exciting as the season promises to be, there is never any guarantee of success. Fail at that point and all the euphoria that abounds right now will be like a bubble bursting.
We have the form, the confidence and the desire to get back into the football league this season and start the next stage of this journey in League 2.
Onwards and upwards!

You know what you talk a lot of sense.
Your first paragraph is exactly how I feel, let’s have football we can all enjoy life’s too short for all this bickering, league football will follow no doubt.I’ve hated Keates football of the past but if his current performances continue I’ll support him and the team until the season ends, then R&R will do as they see fit.

I firmly believe that the new found optimism and goodwill that exudes from our new owners and everything they seem to be putting in place ,must have rubbed off on the players too.
That ,and a gelling of the team and a run of form ,and that instills confidence , I can now see them going onto greater things !
COYR !!

Don't get me wrong, I want promotion... Its just not the be all and end all for me. Its the goal, but for me not the thing I care most about. To get all analagous, it's a bit like going to the cinema and every film you see is shit and leaves you wondering why you bother... Every time I bring someone to the racecourse for the first time, they generally don't come back - getting people through the door is number 1 priority for me, and entertaining football of the highest possible quality for the level you're at will help achieve this. The by product of that entertaining football is a much greater chance of success.

The other 2 key priorities for me are already now being achieved:

- A move away from the re-emerging new old boys network and the politics associated with it... Football should be about the game and not AGMs
- Progress and development. The last 6 weeks or so, have been epic in terms of the improvements we are seeing. And it's been largely transparent, no peacocking with the expectation that we fall to our knees proclaiming not to be worthy because the wallpaper of fire was set in place by our glorious leaders, instead changes that add some tangible value...
