dug out my extracts from his autobiography from a previous thread, apologies if any of this was covered in the podcast with him!

skimming through, highlights include:
-Joey scouted him whilst he was at Rhyl after arranging a mid season friendly against them - he scored a hat trick against us
-Stan Boardman was also at the game and recommended him to Tranmere, but we beat them to his signature
-his first goal was an overhead kick in a 3-2 win at Rotherham
-he asked for a raise after his first full season started, he was on about £500 a week at the time
-Gary Neville took the piss out of him for carrying some lumber in the Man U testimonial for Bryan and Kevin Reeves and that spurred his career on
-Some lucky Wrexham lass had a quickie with him behind a nightclub in town, and the coppers saw it all on CCTV
-a Wrexham fan gave him free driving lessons as he couldn't drive - he binned him off one night for a night with a future Miss Wales
-not long after he had a crash on Runcorn Bridge, with Dan Bennett in the back seat
-he got a few lads from his local youth team deals at Wrexham - Joe Feeney, Frankie Lacken and Mark Duffy - who ended up at Morecambe
-he got done over by a crazy girl who threatened to ruin his career over a rape allegation, even though it was consensual. he got arrested for it, and the club backed him through it
-she withdrew the allegation after the last game of our promotion season
-he loved his time at the club, the team, the commute and the town
money was the only reason he left, which we couldn't meet due to financial restrictions
-very complimentary on a lot of the players at Wrexham at the time he was there, and both Flynn and Smith
-Flynn had tapped him up before end of the season for Swansea, with the deal dependent on staying in the football league - needing to beat Hull on the final game of the season - as he celebrated the promotion, he asked a steward how Swansea had got on....

Is there any truth in the story that Trundle performed so well against Jaap Staam in the friendly with Man U in 2001 that Ferguson decided to let Staam go soon after. In his autobiography Ferguson does refer to Staams age (29) and that he was “tackling less often than before”.

When he's complaining that the club didn't pay him enough, does he mention how Hamilton was the owner and everything that happened due to him...or does he just complain about the money.

Great podcast. Some of the team suggestions are laughable though.

If Carlos is a right-back then i'd like Gary Bennett nominated as one of the centre halves.

He didn't complain about not getting more money, he was explaining what led to him leaving. Lee Trundle was worth more than £500 a week, every summer he was told there would be no payrise, while far lesser players were earning a hell of a lot more. Swansea offered a more deserving contract for his abilities and he rightly left.

So I'll take that as a no, he doesn't mention that Hamilton was in charge at the time.

Your argument doesn’t hold much weight when the summer he left we signed Chris Armstrong and Llewellyn who were both earning over £1k a week

The argument that he was a prolific striker, so should have had more money also doesn't hold much weight...he was no Gary Bennett.
First season 8 goals in 14 matches, 2nd season 10 goals in 38 matches 3rd season 12 goals in 50 matches.
