Yes we did, with the team and system Saunders put together. He kept the ball rolling but selling Obeng and Fowler were huge signs of where we were heading.

we won the fa trophy and lost in the play off final, yes some great and bad memories there but in the gereral Morrel was a very good goalscorer taken on as manager possibly as a cost cutting excercise, who inherited a team that was in effect Saunders team, players left but were not replaced with better, funds from those two Wembley vists were used to pay off debts, and then there was no dosh for players and loans were taken on board to keep the club running, which had to be paid back and is why ever since we have lacked funding for players, except of course the windfalls, cant remember what happened to them

I'd had enough the minute they put Morrell in charge, sold Obeng and Fowler. That's when I knew we weren't going anywhere.

No we should have put them in the (non existent) reserves to stew and we would have been fine.

We coped ok without them that season reaching 98 points, and if I remember correctly we held NKP until the end of that season forfeiting a big fee. NKP leaving and Creighton getting injured early next season were bigger blows, but Morrell still got us to the play off final after winning the Trophy.

It's incredulous to think Fowler was going to hang around that season. He's barely completed a full season with one club. I found it strange we actually re-signed him given his comments about supporters on his way out first time.

Listening to Glenn Little, Saunders knew Fowler would not stay focused for long and he gave Glenn the job of trying to keep him focussed, but Glenn admitted he was an impossible task.
