So, what will solve our goals issue with the transfer window closed to all but non contract players as of end January ?

Exactly. No one thinks ex prem stars are the ideal way forward - we have had our share of big time Charlies apart from Rush - we just need a striker!

What we need is a real "gunslinger" or "an out of town torpedo", a lonesome stranger with boots for hire, all we got here is a mudslinger and an out of date tomato

Agreed. Why not get in a marquee name on a very short contract? We can afford it, it’d attract headlines. And is fitness that important in that role? Bony at Swansea was never one to run around much but scored the goals. I really don’t see other options. What Keates has just said sounds promising and must have Humphrey’s backing. Interesting!
