Default Re: Torquay Verdict

To sum it up.

Going into Easter we were the form team meeting 2 teams that have lost form...

6 points guaranteed!!

We lose both and the opposition was described as ‘rubbish’ to be polite...

Now that Thomas is out I guess the misery of being shown up in the playoffs might be averted...

Disappointed!!

As already mentioned,if players like Mark Carrington, Dibble are trusted with anymore than fill in sub roles then we wouldn't go up. I've never seen anyone give the ball away with hopeless hoofs as Carrington. It's like watching a Sunday league player having to pick his left leg up to kick it on that side.
Agree on the Rutherford comment totally. It goes a long way in this league.
Really not convinced on Angus the ball does not stick and he goes down far too easily..Hard playing a lone striker though..
Endless long balls again with no playing into feet until last 10..

MOTM given to Davies but for me Harris is still the one who looks for passes and closes down and did more than anyone..Jarvis had a chance to shine and was not to be seen..These players should be screaming for the ball into feet.

Had draw written all over it and didn't deserve to lose but nothing up front.
Torquay well organised and worked for each other nothing more...got their chance and took it

It’s Groundhog Day over and over again. It is not bad luck if you continuously concede from set pieces and in the last minute. It is repeated failure. If you are a negative manager who plays turgid football you have to win 1-0 every week. If you don’t you are open to criticism and negative reaction.

I don’t believe we have 7 richer clubs in this division with access to more resources and better players so not getting in the playoffs would be a failure.

Nobody is blaming Dibble for the goal yet. He got a touch on it but I don't think it was his fault.

Now you mention it.... it does show up his lack of footwork and how slow his reactions are

Angus isn't a target man though and he never is going to be. Thomas did that work and thats why it worked well with them two.

Jarvis was bitterly disappointing today. Given a chance and did not turn up.

Next season we need the money needs to be spent of the midfield area. Its been a issue season after season.

We were always gonna struggle up front, other than that actually thought we did well and were better team particularly 2nd half. Top marks to ref who allowed game to flow

So disappointing to lose it in the last 10 minutes against 2 of our rivals, both games we could have won and didn’t deserve to lose either.

What makes it worse is that no other teams in the top 8 have lost over Easter.

Felt for Angus today as he needs balls to run onto, but at least he needs to have a chance of getting to them.

Feel more comfortable with Lainton in goal, but can’t fault Dibble for anything today.

Defensively we looked solid again today, but at 0-0 anything can happen, and did, lose ball in the box and unfortunately it fell to one of their players.

It’s going to be a struggle to find the net the remainder of the season, unless we can somehow find a gold nugget, but I fear unlikely to happen.
