A 6 million budget would be excellent but has anyone from the club actually stated what our budget will be for next season?

Lainton - Keep, no1

French - Keep, showing promise to be a real CB, he is not a RB or RWB at all.
Pearson - Keep, leader and a threat in the opposition box.
Carrington - Keep and people need to put some respect on his name, very good squad player, comes In and does a job no fuss.
Max Cleworth - Loan, more experience
James Horsfield - Release, NLN standard
Jamie Reckord - 50/50, hard one with him, drops too deep in a LWB role and crossing a ball from open play is a challenge for him.
RHJ - Depends on next seasons formation, we play wing backs again then keep, we play 4 at the back then release as defensively he's not great.
Theo - Keep, solid at the back and a threat in the opposition box
Fiacre Kelleher - Monster at the back, keep.

Paul Rutherford - release, will actually be sad to see him go but lacks that quality now but been a great player for us commitment wise.
Luke Young - Keep, good pro in the middle
Jay Harris - Keep, people say his legs have gone/going yet I would say he is a best player in the middle, we know he loves a yellow but he wins so much and keeps things ticking so much.
Devonte - Release, shame but just did not work.
Dan Jarvis - So much quality but 1/6 games showing it is not good enough so release.
Durrell - Release, I think he challenges hard, fights but is lazy tracking back and this position just like Jarvis you need 10-15 goals and both are short of that in a long way.
Jordan - He has shown the most promise in actually progressing as a player, more confident and effects games, glad he's still contracted for another season.

Dior - contracted but with a full pre season I hope he hits the ground running as he has pace and can finish.
Jord - I would personally loan for first 6 months, make sure he is match fit as for us he is just made of glass, if we want to be a serious team we cant afford this, could be huge for the run in.
Thomas - I would keep, he's progressed as a player, massive injury and will take him time but again could be massive for us this time next year.
Jake - Not seen too much but give him a pre season before deciding if we loan him out again.

Management - From nearly going down last season to being disappointed we might just miss out on the play offs - Lainton & Pearson missing a lot of games, 2 strikers injured in the space of 24 hours and Adi Yussef wanting to leave last day of our transfer window its a lot to deal with. I would say its been tough to watch at times, frustrating but the team has progressed. I think Dean will leave but he has done a job here in bringing us back with something to work with.
You’d keep a Cymru Alliance Keeper as backup to Lainton, who has spent most of his career injured? Get rid of both I say. I’d get rid of young in the middle on top of those mentioned - not mobile enough and gets bypassed against the better sides. Hall-Johnson and reckord both need releasing. They are not good enough for a promotion chasing side.

Some interesting opinions coming out, but we still have 11 games to play with an outside chance of making the POs.

So, these dead-beats/wunderkind are required a bit longer.

Your right we have progressed we will end up mid table in our 13 th season in this division, have you ever thought what a team with a top four budget were doing in a relegation scrap last year, the football has been terrible to watch just a good job we have had no crowds,.For some reason Keates did not bring in the strikers needed in the window and then Yussef leaves last minute I think that really sums up our club the last 7 years. If we keep our good old squad players Carrington,Pearson,Harris,Dibble etc in 15 months we will be looking forward to our 15th season in the National league.

Wouldn’t put him in the starting 11 week in week out. But if this season has taught us anything you need a squad not just a team
Our unbeaten run either side of Aldershot, started when Carra came back into the team.

You seem a very loyal person.

Let's see what happens at the end of May...

'Makes more saves than mistakes' is not justification to keep a goalkeeper on.

It's so hard to say given we don't know how much money we'll be playing with next season or who will be in charge.

But Durrell and Harris would be the first out of the door regardless. Quickly followed by Dibble, Reckord, Grant, Redmond, Horsfield and Rutherford. Probably a few more who should be released as well, but would depend on the factors above.

Default Re: Who goes and who stays ?

I have seen Salford's salaries for this season, Bruno Andrade and Ian Henderson are on over £600k per season between them which is not far off our current first team budget!

Next season we won't have anywhere near a £6m budget it will be around £2m at a guess which is more than good enough to put together a squad at this level.

Everyone seems to say get rid of players but no-one can name a player who is better to replace them. Having watched every game this season you can see most teams aren't that impressive and after all it is conference football.

I would first pick a formation we are going to stick to 5-3-2 would be my choice and get rid of players like Rutherford and Horsfield who don't fit that system.

Dibble - Release
Lainton - Keep

French - Keep
Pearson - Keep
Carrington - Keep
Max Cleworth - Loan
James Horsfield - Release
Jamie Reckord - 50/50
RHJ - Keep
Theo - Keep
Fiacre Kelleher -Keep

Paul Rutherford - release
Luke Young - Keep
Jay Harris - Keep
Devonte - Release
Dan Jarvis -50/50.
Durrell - Release
Jordan Davies - Keep

Dior - Keep
Jordan Ponticelli - Release/loan out
Thomas - Keep
Jake - Loan Out

Keeper - To challenge Lainton to be number 1

Add 2/3 full backs to challenge RHJ and Reckord if he was retained that are all attacking minded and pacey.
2 CM's - Harris goes to back up, Brad Walker type CM and another ball playing midfielder (Falkingham at Harrogate, Eastmond at Sutton as an example)

1/2 - CAM's depending on if Jarvis was retained.

2/3 strikers- Michael Cheek, Kabongo Tshimanga and Luke Armstrong type players.

Add real quality to what we have and we are ready to go
