which begs the question are the chair and vice chair accountable to the members.

I Would have thought so but would have thought it would be upto the independent secretary to put out the minutes and that would have been Josh at the time.

up to the committee to approve minutes.

we also know from previous minutes that independent secretaries have been muzzled from telling the members. eg. the bids. Paul Cox has certainly been vocal that the committee did not respect his role and practically calling them hypocrites by publishing the wst rules on what the role entails

let's remember the non quorate committee must have had another meeting to approve the minutes of 25th march meeting when decisions have made against the wst rules. the chair has also publicly broken the rules with the publication of the new independent secretary ad.

that is why I believe the lease must be protected from the committee.

Are we not moving towards an AGM to decide the future of the WST and how that fits in with the lease. Would the transfer of the lease to Wrexham Council be feasible if the new owners are prepared to accept that as a better way going forward.
Or the new owners may prefer to purchase the freehold?

This is the root problem with the WST. The new constitution must state the chairman is accountable to the members for all its actions and inactions.

Folk have hidden behind a constitution that was not fit for purpose when we owned the club, and is now redundant now we don’t.

We need a meeting to sanction the board to come up with a new, draft constitution before putting it to the members for their scrutiny.

Before that, we need to establish the purpose of the WST beyond holding the lease to the Racecourse. It’s now 2 weeks since they sought input, but nothing has yet been proposed. Appreciate this is all chicken and egg stuff, but I am losing confidence that the remaining board members have either the inclination or nowse to get it sorted pdq.

the committee aren't allowed to recommend what happens to the trust. they will, because they still want to be grandees and get their photo opportunities with R&R. plus they know only MacDougall would put up the £500 to take it to arbitration.

can't transfer lease without permission from members which they can't do until they become quorate.

I would rather the lease were in a trust, the council will just sell it.

One of the complications is that the lease was initially for 99 years. R&R have agreed to cover the sub-lease for 30 years (can anyone confirm that), so the WST would be fully liable after 2051.

I will be in the great Officers’ Mess in the Sky by then, hopefully supping a G&T or two, so it won’t concern me. But some ‘bean-counter’ will splutter at the liability.

Needs sorting ASAP.
