Default Kop barriers and Tank traps

I note that some fans are still obtaining barriers for their kop memories.

I wonder what will happen to the war time concrete tank traps that help support the south bank of the kop? They are a true historical feature and would have been constructed locally for use by engineers and Home Guard.

At the time the Kop was restructured the traps were rolled in and built up to support the varied rubble which is now the terrace.

An old fan once said to be that it would be wonderful if a handful were saved and situation nearby - maybe in sculptural arrangement - as a memorial to those difficult times that the town, club, supporters and staff endured. Maybe designed within the Gateway Scheme.

C'mon the Town.

Really interesting; I always thought they looked beefed up reinforcements. Thanks for sharing the info. We should protect a sample at least.

Maybe cut them into disc's and use them on a concourse.

Thought this was the latest coaching waffle we seem to adopt.

It would be nice if both can be incorporated into the new design to remind us of our history.

I have always wondered where the round tank traps were moved from ?

Been a bit of an amateur historian of WW2 ,were they defense traps from RAF Wrexham maybe ? Not too far to move them and a possibility !

Here is a page that shows them in locations in Lancs
Road Blocks and tank traps and dragon's teeth from WW2 Lancashire

I agree that a sympathetic arrangement somewhere , would be a great idea

Could be drilled to form flag bases at the new Kop entrance with a plaque to show their history.
