I agree. The abuse some on here give him can be quite vile and 1 thing Ruthers has never done is take the piss. He might not be the greatest of players but he has always given 100% which is more than a lot of players have over the last few seasons.

Rutherford gets a lot of stick because he is more about effort than finesse, and yes some of that has been downright vitriolic at times. I doubt very much that people talk about B&Q with his best interests at heart.

Personally didn't see the avatar, but unless the poster knows Paul and has regular banter with him over this I'd say the "banter" was more a laugh at him than with him

Although I'm quite surprised his motto isn't, "We go again" I might suggest that to him.

The Rutherford situation is unique. They love him at Southport and would have him back should he become available. Where he has been their player of the year on three occasions.
