In fairness to Foxy yesterday Wales reported 23 cases per 100,000. That is 0.023 %.

If 10% of those end up in hospital it is 0.0023% and if 10% end up in ICU its 0.00023% and if 10% of those die, thats 0.000023% of cases.

Put simply - your chance of dying from COVID is now negligible, far far less than of heart attacks, strokes or cancer. Yet people are loosing livelihoods and the impact on mental health caused by the lack of social interaction will last for years.

Lockdown was needed when infections resulted in large scale deaths, but that is not now the case and it’s time to accept this disease is something we need to learn to live with.

Like it or not, the Racecourse is being kept closed by the Welsh government, and they refuse to give any indication of when they aim to allow us to open.

I thought it was shut because the season finished.

I mean, people voted in Drakeford and Boris’ popularity is at an all time high so people must love lockdowns.

To your mind how many deaths are tolerable before we open up everything.

I honestly don’t know. It’s also not just deaths , it’s pressure on the NHS that has to be taken into account . But I don’t know, because I don’t know the economic costs, the public health costs and mental health costs of restrictions. The answer to your question can only be given when someone has access to that data. My gut feeling is that we can’t open everything up at the moment, but that there are some restrictions on outdoor activities which could be lifted. Indeed , should never have existed at all. Inside risky, outside safe.
