Oh come on, I reckon he'd do alright at a team with a target to survive and aim for mid table, his negative football does pick up points after all...

Teams like Wealdstone or Kings Lynn would probably improve under him.. Our problem was we're not a Kings Lynn who's desperate to survive and that's why Keates didn't cut it.

No, he's bloody useless. Game management probably the worst I've seen.

Southend have signed Rhys Murphy which is the only signing I have remotely raised my eyebrow at so far.. (and Pearson naturally)

Both Grimsby and Southend appear to be relying on or saddled with the majority of their squads which failed last season, they are either banking on a divisional drop in quality or handcuffed by so many contracted players...

Unless they are going to sign a bucket load I would count Notts, Chesterfield and Stockport a far bigger threat..

I would be very disappointed if we signed Rhys Murphy as one of our main strikers really hope we bring in better quality players.Lots of league players are still in contract until July 1st.So the real action will start then

He has still scored 29 goals in 58 games for Yeovil and scored a great hatrick at the racecourse 18 months ago.

Rhys Murphy is such a dog shit singing, shambolic. He’s 30 years old so at the twilight of his career and on paper had a lucky season with Yeovil as his goal scoring record before that was not great. Southend are nothing to worry about at all for me

He's scored 62 in 108 games in all comps in the last three seasons, I'm not saying he's the sort of player we should be going for but that isn't a record to call shambolic either..

I'm hoping we'll get one striker a level up who can net towards 25 or more, but a back up / second fiddle striker who's scored 17 in 30 in a good Yeovil side and 12 in 28 in a poor side this season both at this level wouldn't be a bad bet..

Still I agree with you that Southend are looking mid table..

I would love us to sign a 'lucky' 29 goals in 58 games striker. At 30 he is perfectly ok for another 3 seasons minimum. The only scoring record you should ever care about is the most recent and his is impressive. Anyway he has signed for another club so all academic.
