It depends what the bill is. If it is to recruit someone with 4 games experience in football management and none in our league, he will be the perfect candidate.

In fairness one of those games was against Pep’s Man City.

Look at the Les Reed recruitment strategy on one of the other threads. I highly doubt we will be pinching anyone’s manager, so that rules out plenty of people. It may come down to someone like Hudson. A young manager happy to work within the structure we have. If he leaves then parachute somebody else in for continuity. Youth, reserved and first team always in harmony etc. A lot of older managers probably wouldn’t be happy with a lack of autonomy.

If Alexander is in the frame that could work. Did have a fortune to work with at Fleetwood and Salford but got Scunny to the playoffs which bodes well.

People thinking we’re getting some well established, currently employed manager are going to be disappointed IMO. There are very few managers with a NLpromotion on their CV that are attainable or even worth looking at.

Huddersfield were on a shoestring the year they went up. Let's be fair and accept it was a hell of an achievement and it was a huge achievement to keep them up the following season.

He absolutely murdered Schalke though.

If Hudson gets it he must be one hell of an up and coming coach, because otherwise it's a complete stab in the dark.

Maybe we are after more of a head coach than a manager??

Think this is spot on, he’s been at a lot of football league clubs as well so with the right managerial support we should certainly not disregard him. Look what Stockport have done Brighton u23s manager paired him with a experienced assistant and gone 18 unbeaten.

Could turn out to be an astute appointment similar to Ian Evatt at Barrow/Bolton.

They’ve both been captains in their playing career and have experience of promotion.

From a glass half full viewpoint.
